The Gardens at Emerald-View

Home to over 800 named Cultivars.

For the Love of Daylilies!

One of the most common questions I think I’ve received as of late is “Why daylilies?”!

I’ve always had a love for gardening and landscapes. Watching HGTV Garden tours as a kid, or following my mother and grandmothers around their gardens, I think I just ‘caught the bug’.

However, it wasn’t until I met one of the most incredible humans to walk this earth that I truly fell in love with the Daylily Flower.

Audrey Patriarche, pictured to the right, has been one of the biggest influences in my life. Not just with flowers, but in all things related to living. Her passion for life, constant thirst for new adventures and encouraging words have always been a huge impact on me.

The first time I laid eyes on her gardens and collection of daylilies I knew I was hooked. One of my all time favorite flowers in my garden is called Dixie Sunrise (also pictured to the right) was gifted to me from Audrey’s garden.

I can’t thank Audrey enough for all that she has done for me over the years. Her friendship is one I will cherish until the end of time.

Display Garden

Emerald-View Gardens is home to over 800 named cultivars from all over the country. Although we try to focus on dormant varieties, we do grow some semi-evergreen and evergreens here in Central New York.

Over the last six years we have worked diligently to put together a diverse representation of the Daylily flower in our gardens. We hope that you can appreciate the large selection of unique forms, brilliant colors and healthy plant habitat as you tour our gardens.

Peak bloom for us is around the middle of July. Early varieties begin to show their face the middle of June and late varieties and rebloomers holding strong well into October.

Garden Tours

One of our greatest joys is sharing our love for daylilies with others.

Over the past few years unofficial tours have been given to friends and family. With the occasional horticulturist pulling in the driveway after noticing the plant signs and the plethora of colors during the month of July.

2023 will bring the opportunity to open the garden to the public and offer garden tours.

The garden will be open from the 1st of July to the 2nd week in August.

During peak bloom we plan to have two weekend events where fellow daylily enthusiast can tour the gardens and farm, hang out with the livestock and share their love to all things flowers.

Official dates will be posted in May of 2023.
